I had a wonderful time reading this book a couple summers ago! The characters were enduring, the story exciting and I was left wanting more! I'm so excited to find Ms Smigel has continued the series!
I thought Once Upon a Choice was a great book. I really enjoyed reading it and found it very intriguing. I had difficulty putting it down. I am really looking forward to reading more books by this author.
Intriguing! Really enjoyed this book, it kept me reading well into the nite. I never knew quite knew where it was headed and what was going to happen. And I learned a bit about Tarot, which was made both mysterious and practical! What a great writer, I look forward to more. Thank you.
Nothing is as it seems in Once Upon a Choice, a romantic thriller with supernatural overtones. Ms. Smigel has crafted a story full of surprising twists that will keep you guessing to the very end. It definitely leaves you wanting more!
Linda Smigel can write! So many aspects of Smigel's writing style were impressive from the beginning of this book. The author pulled me into the book doing a marvelous job describing the settings - I felt like I was basking in the sun in Naples, Florida and chilly in Chicago! The characters seem like real people; I liked the protagonist and hated the antagonist. With the scene painted and the characters developed, Smigel proceeded with a story line that was suspenseful, romantic, enlightening and endearing. This book is destined to be a Lifetime Movie Network Movie!
As an avid reader, getting wrapped up in the characters and story is the best party of a book for me. Once Upon a Choice took this to a whole new level! I literally could not put the book down while I flew across the country...I couldn't even take a nap! It twists, turns, surprises, and delights. I can't wait for the next one!!!!
The sign of a good book to me is missed appointments and lost sleep. Once you start reading this story, don't plan on doing much else until you are finished. And when you get into the last 1/3rd, nothing else is going to matter until you are done.
Besides a fascinating storyline, I appreciated the remarkable use of analogies. I'm tempted to share one here to make my point, but that would spoil the fun of finding it where it belongs. There are dozens thruout the book. I enjoyed finding these gems and spending a few moments pondering the unique turn of phrase and artistic genius. I believe it is important to stop and appreciate these little treasures, because I feel that opens more neural pathways and makes me more creative.
The book is an absolute delight, and comes complete with some really hot scenes!
Oh, yeah. After you read this book, you next stop will be to learn about Tarot cards!
