Becky loves Sam, but there's a pretty young teacher who's moved into town, and Sam is charmed. So are all the other boys. Now what? This is a rather evil short story set in the context of a young adult romance.

The whole time I was reading this, I was thinking about my German teacher. She was in her 20s but not nearly as attractive as this teacher (long, straw-like hair; a Streisand nose, drooping eyes....), but oh, how the boys went ga-ga! There was one boy in particular who followed her around like a lost puppy. His girlfriend was none too happy about the situation. And then the teacher actually had the boy become a part of her wedding! So, yeah, I TOTALLY related to this story.Well, right up to the very end. THAT was a twist I hadn't had to experience. (Thank goodness!)
This was another one of those storIes I put off reading at bedtime because the reviews said things like "a wicked little tale", "the very worst of personalities", "a darker twist". All I could imagine was evil, horror, and (possibly) gore - something I didn't want to think about before going to sleep. (In fact I wouldn't have read it at all if it hadn't been so short.)
HOWEVER, it was nothing like I had imagined. Sure, there was a twist at the end I hadn't expected, but it was not scary like I had pictured. SO, go check it out - even before bed. There was nothing I couldn't have handled even then. (And I call myself God's biggest chicken.)
Trust me: if I can handle the darkness here (and it DOES exist), then so can you.

Teacher Pet edition by David Rose Mystery Thriller Suspense eBooks Reviews
Teacher's Pet is a suspenseful short story set in an un-named high school among everyday teenagers. The new beautiful teacher, Ms. Guyot, has every male student's attention, but rumors swirl as to her intentions.
This story had a nice build to it, culminating in the end action. Character descriptions were well done and I thought the story was set-up nicely, with little clues here and there that something wasn't quite as it seemed.
I'll nitpick just a bit and say that some of the dialogue felt a little stiff to me for belonging to teenagers, but overall this was an enjoyable short read.
Teacher’s Pet is a wicked tale about false appearances, of how the very worst of personalities can often be successfully hidden behind a mask of innocence. My previous reads of the author’s short stories had already familiarized me with his writing style and wicked twists, but Teacher’s Pet is perhaps the epitome of what David Rose is capable of.
Into the lives of a group of adolescents a mysterious new teacher arrives, disturbing the delicate bonds that have slowly been forged among them. As one of the affected, young Becky cannot help but brood over how her love has been taken from her. A chance encounter between them will lead to a shocking confrontation.
Life isn’t always sweet or fair, and Mr. Rose is supremely adept at pointing this out for us. I would have loved to see this story continue onwards from its climax, but maybe it just wasn’t meant to be; maybe we are meant to be left wondering at how it all panned out. Either way, I enjoyed this wicked little tale and recommend it as a quick but enticing read.
Disclaimer I received a free copy of this book for an objective and non-reciprocal review.
I was thinking it would be a high school story. It was, with a darker twist. I think more from a boy than girl's mind. I have to say it would of been nice had it went on. But maybe there will be more?
When I was 15, I realized for the first time that I was somewhat gullible. Friends tricked me. I fell for it, hook, line and sinker. I’m less gullible now. But a well-crafted story or a well-written movie can still take me unawares. Like David Rose’s “Teacher’s Pet.” The ending is surprisingly intense.
Suffice it to say there’s a gorgeous new high school teacher all the boys are falling all over themselves to impress. And the girls are not happy about it.
Beware the author knows what he’s doing.
