Synopsis
This fictional story is about making elder care decisions. It tells of George, Verna, Doris, and other elders who have been admitted over time to St. Matthew Nursing Home - their final home - due to dementia or other debilitating medical conditions.
Each of them questions how they landed here, as they live their final days and years in this unfamiliar place. Some are content, while others are desperate to go back home. Family members are also woven into the story, discussing their guilt over their reasoning for choosing a nursing facility.
This book considers the options families have, including providing home care services versus the 24/7 nursing care provided in a nursing home. You also hear from the staff of St. Matthew, presenting their views, frustrations, and passion to do the right thing.
What would you do if the decision was about your mother, or if you were part of the nursing home staff? She Presents Well delves into the issues we all have to face.

This book is a must read for anyone debating sending a loved one to a nursing home. It's both lovely and informative. I think it accurately describes the different types of people who work in the homes. It also helps us understand how and why people are admitted. Though definitely not a sales pitch for these facilities, I believe they aren't as soulless as I once thought. With its interesting cast of characters and interesting twist...I could see it as a movie.Product details

She Presents Well eBook Kenneth J Smith Reviews
This book is an overwhelming examination of the difficulties in dealing with dementia from all points of view. Certainly not an easy read but should probably be required for anyone in the field of care. My favorite story was with Jennie (Olivia) and Joan. Thanks for the shimmer of light on a matter of huge interest from a member of the largest population (Baby Boomers), entering the later years.
